Description
A quick and easy bok choy dish cooked with a flavorful ginger chili sauce, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
- Bok Choy (500 g or about 2 large heads)
- Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
- Fresh Ginger (30 g or 2 tablespoons, minced)
- Chili Pepper (1, sliced)
- Soy Sauce (60 ml or ¼ cup)
- Sesame Oil (15 ml or 1 tablespoon)
- Sugar (15 g or 1 tablespoon)
- Sesame Seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the bok choy: Rinse thoroughly under running water and slice into bite-sized pieces, keeping the white parts and green leaves separate.
- Heat the pan: In a large frying pan or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Sauté garlic and ginger: Add minced garlic and ginger to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until aromatic.
- Add bok choy: Stir in the white parts first, cooking for 2–3 minutes, then add the green leaves and cook for another minute until wilted.
- Mix the sauce: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sliced chili pepper, and sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Finish the dish: Pour the sauce over the bok choy and mix well. Cook for another minute until heated through.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy warm!
Notes
For best texture, do not overcook bok choy. Can prep ingredients a day in advance.
