Description

A refreshing dessert that showcases the unique flavor of key limes, combining a buttery graham cracker crust with a creamy filling.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup fresh key lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl to form the crust. Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool.
  4. Whisk together the egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  5. Stir in the key lime juice and lime zest until well combined.
  6. Pour the filling into the cooled crust and bake for another 10-15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the top of the pie.
  8. Garnish with lime slices and serve.
