Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups stale bread, cubed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, toss cubed stale bread.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and celery; sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Combine sautéed vegetables and herbs with bread cubes in the bowl. Gradually add chicken broth until moist but not soggy.
  4. Transfer to a greased baking dish, spreading evenly. Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving alongside turkey or as a standalone dish.

Notes

  • This stuffing pairs well with turkey and can be served on its own.
