- 8 cups stale bread, cubed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, toss cubed stale bread.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and celery; sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Combine sautéed vegetables and herbs with bread cubes in the bowl. Gradually add chicken broth until moist but not soggy.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish, spreading evenly. Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving alongside turkey or as a standalone dish.
