Description

Deliciously moist and lightly sweetened, oatmeal muffins with applesauce provide a wholesome start to your day.


Ingredients

  • 150 g (1 ½ cups) rolled oats
  • 250 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 100 g (½ cup) brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 240 ml (1 cup) applesauce
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) milk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine applesauce, milk, and egg. Whisk until fully incorporated.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold using a rubber spatula.
  4. Fill the muffin tin: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line the muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it. Fill each muffin cup approximately 2/3 full.
  5. Bake the muffins: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and enjoy: Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool further.
