A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich using flaky puff pastry for a crispy texture.

- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 slices gruyère cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- Optional: caramelized onions
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
- Cut the pastry into four squares.
- Place two slices of cheddar and one slice of gruyère in the center of two squares.
- Add caramelized onions if desired.
- Cover with remaining pastry squares and seal edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with melted butter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For a richer flavor, try mixing different types of cheese.
