  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup pepperoni slices (or any preferred toppings)
  • ¼ cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for grilling)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Pinch of salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and slice the bread if necessary.
  2. On two slices of bread, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce.
  3. Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add pepperoni slices (or your favorite toppings) on top of the cheese.
  4. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the toppings for added flavor.
  5. Add another layer of mozzarella cheese on top of the toppings.
  6. Place the remaining slices of bread on top, creating two sandwiches.
  7. In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  8. Place the sandwiches in the skillet. Grill for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Carefully flip the sandwiches and add the remaining butter to the skillet. Grill the other side for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
  10. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, let them cool slightly, then slice in half and serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
