- 4 slices of bread (your choice: white, whole grain, or sourdough)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup pepperoni slices (or any preferred toppings)
- ¼ cup marinara sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter (for grilling)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- Pinch of salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and slice the bread if necessary.
- On two slices of bread, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add pepperoni slices (or your favorite toppings) on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the toppings for added flavor.
- Add another layer of mozzarella cheese on top of the toppings.
- Place the remaining slices of bread on top, creating two sandwiches.
- In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
- Place the sandwiches in the skillet. Grill for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
- Carefully flip the sandwiches and add the remaining butter to the skillet. Grill the other side for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
- Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, let them cool slightly, then slice in half and serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
