Description

  • 1 cup Dark Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 3 cups Pecan Halves
  • 13.25 oz Butter Pecan Cake Mix
  • 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Chopped Pecans
  • 3/4 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 cup Hot Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup dark corn syrup, 1/2 cup melted butter, and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
  3. Whisk in the 3 large eggs until fully combined.
  4. Fold in the 3 cups of pecan halves. Spread this filling evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Evenly spread the 13.25 oz of butter pecan cake mix over the filling.
  6. Sprinkle 1/3 cup brown sugar and 3/4 cup chopped pecans evenly over the cake mix.
  7. Pour 3/4 cup melted butter over the top.
  8. Pour 1 cup of hot water evenly over everything. Do not mix.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Allow the Pecan Pie Dump Cake to cool. It can be served warm or at room temperature.

  • A yellow cake mix can be substituted for the butter pecan cake mix.
