Description

This classic 7 Layer Dip is a flavorful and colorful appetizer perfect for parties and gatherings. It features layers of spicy refried beans, fresh guacamole, seasoned sour cream, chunky salsa, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, and sliced black olives, served with crunchy tortilla chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans Refried Beans (suggest spicy jalapeno)
  • Hot Sauce (optional)
  • 3 to 4 medium Avocados
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Chopped Cilantro
  • 1/2 Jalapeno (finely minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt (more to taste)
  • 1 1/2 cups Sour Cream
  • 2 to 3 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups Favorite Salsa (chunky, mild, or hot)
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar or Mexican Cheese Blend
  • 2 to 3 Roma Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 3 Green Onions (sliced)
  • 1 (2.25 ounce) can Black Olives (drained)
  • Tortilla Chips

Instructions

  1. Stir the refried beans in a bowl to make spreading easier. Optionally, mix in some hot sauce for added spice. Spread the beans evenly on the bottom of your serving dish.
  2. In a bowl, mash together the avocados, fresh lime juice, chopped cilantro, finely minced jalapeno, and salt until chunky and well mixed. Spread the guacamole evenly over the refried beans layer.
  3. Mix the sour cream with taco seasoning in a bowl. Spread this mixture evenly over the guacamole layer.
  4. Spoon your favorite chunky salsa evenly over the sour cream layer.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend generously over the salsa layer.
  6. Chop roma tomatoes and drain any excess juice. Spread the tomatoes evenly over the cheese layer.
  7. Finish by sprinkling sliced green onions and drained black olives over the top of the dip.
  8. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve chilled with tortilla chips for dipping.
