  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp fresh orange zest
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and granulated sugar. Sprinkle yeast over it and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir well, then gradually incorporate remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread melted butter over it. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and orange zest; sprinkle this mixture on top.
  5. Roll tightly from one edge to form a log and slice into 12 pieces. Place in greased baking pans.
  6. Let rise again for about 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While baking, mix powdered sugar and orange juice for icing. Drizzle over warm rolls when done.
