- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced, optional)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Green onions (sliced, for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger (if using). Set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
- Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet and stir well to coat the chicken evenly.
- Let the sauce simmer for about 2–3 minutes until it thickens slightly. If desired, mix the cornstarch with the water and add it to the skillet to thicken the sauce further.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve hot over rice or with steamed vegetables.
