Description
Spooky Halloween Pasta with Ghostly Meatballs Delight
Ingredients
Scale
- 25 pieces meatballs (Feel free to use store-bought or homemade for a delicious flavor.)
- 1 lb pasta (Any shape works, fun shapes could enhance the festive look!)
- 1 tablespoon salt (Essential for bringing out the pasta’s flavor in the boiling water.)
- food gel or food coloring (Adds the spooky Halloween vibe; gel works best for vibrant colors.)
- 6–8 cups marinara sauce (This luscious sauce ties everything together.)
- 13 pieces ciliegine mozzarella cheese balls (Cut in half lengthwise to create ghostly ‘eyes’.)
- 25 slices black olive slices (Perfect for making the meatballs look spooky.)
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring it to a rolling boil over medium-high heat before adding your pasta. Cook it according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-12 minutes. Drain the pasta thoroughly and rinse it under cold water.
- In batches, take the drained pasta and transfer it into a gallon-size resealable bag. Add 2 tablespoons of water and a few drops of food gel or coloring. For regular food dye, add 15-20 drops for vibrant results.
- Seal the bag and gently squish the pasta to coat it entirely in color. Let it sit for a few minutes so the dye can absorb. Transfer to a colander to let it drain and shake off any excess dye.
- Continue the coloring process with the remaining pasta until all is dyed. Give a final rinse with cold water to wash away any excess food coloring. Serve fresh or store in the fridge to reheat later.
- In a large serving bowl, arrange your vibrant pasta and generously top it with marinara sauce.
- For each meatball, place a half slice of ciliegine mozzarella on top for a ghostly appearance and add a black olive slice for the spooky ‘eye.’ Nestle these meatballs over the marinara sauce.
