Description

These Ghost Popcorn Balls are an adorably spooky, no-bake Halloween treat! Soft, gooey, and shaped like little ghostly figures, they’re the ultimate kid-friendly dessert — perfect for parties, school snacks, or festive family fun. Made with popcorn, butter, and marshmallows, these sweet ghost treats are easy, fun, and hauntingly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup unpopped kernels)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • Candy eyeballs
  • Mini chocolate chips (optional, for ghost mouths)
  • Cooking spray or butter (for greasing hands)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Popcorn: Pop popcorn and spread on parchment paper or in a large bowl. Remove unpopped kernels.
  2. Melt the Marshmallow Mixture: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  3. Combine: Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the popcorn. Stir with a greased spatula until evenly coated. Cool slightly (2–3 minutes).
  4. Shape: Grease hands with butter or cooking spray. Shape mixture into oval ghost shapes (about 8 total).
  5. Decorate: While still tacky, press on candy eyes and mini chocolate chips for mouths.
  6. Set: Let cool 15–20 minutes before serving or wrapping individually.

Notes

  • Don’t overheat marshmallows: Melt on low to medium heat for the perfect gooey texture.
  • Shape quickly: Work while the mixture is still warm — it hardens as it cools.
  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days.
  • Make-Ahead Tip: Wrap individually for parties or school-safe treats.
  • Variations: Add sprinkles, dip bottoms in white chocolate, or make mini ghosts!
