- 1 loaf of French or Italian bread
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4–6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried parsley)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise, creating two long pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning if using. Mix until well combined.
- Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
- If you’re using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it generously over the buttered sides.
- Wrap each half of the bread in aluminum foil to keep it moist while baking.
- Place the wrapped bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.
- After baking, carefully unwrap the foil and return the bread to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes for a crispy top.
- Once done, remove from the oven, slice into pieces, and serve warm.
