Description
Delicious Stovetop Burgers: Your New Favorite Comfort Meal
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chuck (80%-85% lean)
- Kosher or sea salt (to taste)
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- 4 slices American or Cheddar Cheese (melts beautifully)
- 4 pieces Burger Buns (toasted enhances texture)
- Condiments of choice (ketchup, mustard, mayo)
- Toppings like lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pickles (for added crunch)
Instructions
- Place the ground chuck in a medium-sized mixing bowl, then sprinkle with kosher or sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Gently mix to combine.
- Split the meat into four equal portions.
- Take one portion and press it gently into a 1-inch thick, round patty on a plate.
- Using your thumb or fingers, carefully press a ‘moat’ around the circumference of the burger.
- Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties in the skillet, ensuring space between each one.
- Cook the burgers until they’re beautifully seared, about 3-4 minutes.
- Carefully flip the burgers and cook to your desired level of doneness.
- If you’re adding cheese, remove the pan from the heat and place a slice on each burger.
- Toast your buns while the cheese melts, then serve the burgers on the bun with your favorite toppings.
