Description
Croissant Bread Pudding with Caramel: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large croissants, preferably day-old
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
- Optional: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in the greased baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the torn croissants, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
- Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the top of the mixture.
- Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes, allowing the croissants to absorb the custard.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 15-20 minutes before serving.
- Drizzle remaining caramel sauce over the top before serving.
Notes
- This recipe works best with day-old croissants for better absorption.
- Feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
