Description

A festive twist on classic macarons inspired by Christmas cake, these delicious treats are perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups almond flour
  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • Food coloring (gel)
  • Sprinkles for decoration
  • Melted white chocolate for drizzling
  • Crumbled Christmas Cake

Instructions

  1. Sift powdered sugar and almond flour together twice.
  2. Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold in almond flour mixture until the batter flows like lava.
  4. Pipe the batter onto lined baking sheets and let rest for 30–60 minutes.
  5. Bake at 300°F for 14–16 minutes, rotating halfway through.
  6. Beat softened butter until fluffy, then mix in powdered sugar, vanilla, cream, and crumbled Christmas Cake.
  7. Assemble macarons by pairing shells and piping in filling, then sandwiched together.
  8. Decorate with melted white chocolate and sprinkles, allowing to set before serving.
  9. Refrigerate assembled macarons for at least 24 hours for best flavor.
