- 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 pinch cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- Food coloring (gel)
- Sprinkles for decoration
- Melted white chocolate for drizzling
- Crumbled Christmas Cake
Instructions
- Sift powdered sugar and almond flour together twice.
- Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in almond flour mixture until the batter flows like lava.
- Pipe the batter onto lined baking sheets and let rest for 30–60 minutes.
- Bake at 300°F for 14–16 minutes, rotating halfway through.
- Beat softened butter until fluffy, then mix in powdered sugar, vanilla, cream, and crumbled Christmas Cake.
- Assemble macarons by pairing shells and piping in filling, then sandwiched together.
- Decorate with melted white chocolate and sprinkles, allowing to set before serving.
- Refrigerate assembled macarons for at least 24 hours for best flavor.
