Ingredients

- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Candy melts for decorating
- Sprinkles or mini bows for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat before it bubbles.
- Whisk in the sugar until smooth and glossy. Let it cool, then blend in the eggs and vanilla.
- In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter evenly into a prepared 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool, lift from pan, and cut into squares.
- Melt candy melts and drizzle over brownies to resemble ribbons. Add toppings.
- Allow decorations to set at room temperature or refrigerate for quicker hardening.
