Description
Delicious and easy-to-make chocolate covered strawberries using melted chocolate and optional coatings like coconut, nuts, or sprinkles. Perfect for a quick, bite-sized dessert that’s both visually appealing and tasty.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips
- 2 tsp vegetable oil (or grapeseed oil, canola, peanut, or other neutral oil)
- 500g / 1 lb strawberries (~25 strawberries, depending on size)
- Desiccated coconut
- Crushed nuts
- Sprinkles
- Other coating of choice
Instructions
- Line a tray with baking paper (parchment paper) to place the dipped strawberries on for setting.
- Place chocolate chips in a microwave-proof bowl and microwave on high in 30-second bursts, stirring between bursts until smooth and fully melted.
- Pick up each strawberry by its stem or by gathering the leaves to hold it securely, then dip it into the melted chocolate, rolling to coat most of the strawberry evenly.
- If using desiccated coconut, crushed nuts, sprinkles, or any other coatings, dip the chocolate-covered strawberry into the coating immediately after dipping in chocolate and before it sets.
- Place the coated strawberries onto the prepared tray, then refrigerate for 30 minutes or until the chocolate is firm and set.
- Best served within 12 hours of making for optimal freshness and quality.
Notes
- Store in a cool place if not serving immediately.
- Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor.
