  • ½ cup Maraschino cherries – Drained, patted dry, and chopped
  • Powdered sugar – For rolling (about 1 cup, as needed)
  • ½ tsp Almond extract – Swap for vanilla or use in combination
  • ¼ cup Chopped nuts – Pecans, walnuts, almonds (optional)
  • 12 tbsp Cherry juice – For color or flavor, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Drain, dry, and chop maraschino cherries.
  3. Cream butter and sugar, then mix in vanilla, flour, salt, and cherries.
  4. Shape dough into balls and bake until lightly golden.
  5. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar, cool, then roll again.
