Description

Brioche Bread Pudding is a rich and comforting dessert made with cubed brioche bread, eggs, milk, cream, and spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of brioche bread (about 12 cups, cubed)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
  • Butter, for greasing the baking dish
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Cut the brioche into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the brioche cubes. Gently toss until all the bread is soaked in the custard mixture.
  5. If desired, fold in raisins or chocolate chips for added flavor.
  6. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
  9. For a finishing touch, dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute the raisins or chocolate chips with your favorite mix-ins.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature for the best flavor.
