Description
This Birthday Cake Cookies recipe inspired by Crumbl combines rich black cocoa, crushed Oreos, and cream cheese buttercream frosting for a decadent treat.

- 10 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
- 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup black cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (dark or light)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cake batter extract (optional)
- 1/4 stick (2 tbsp) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
- 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
- Rainbow sprinkles, as desired
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Finely crush 10 Oreo cookies. Combine crushed Oreos, flour, cornstarch, black cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- Beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a stand mixer until light and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add egg, vanilla extract, and cake batter extract (if using) to the butter mixture. Mix until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until a cohesive dough forms.
- Portion out 8 equal dough balls and flatten them to about 1 inch thick. Place on the baking sheet and freeze for 15 minutes.
- Bake cookies for 11 minutes. Allow cooling on the baking sheet.
- Cream together softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Whip until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Finely crush 4 Oreos and mix with 2 tablespoons of cream cheese until combined. Form small pieces from this mixture.
- Pipe frosting onto cooled cookies and top with Oreo dough bites and rainbow sprinkles.
